UIDAI has made a major decision for Aadhaar cardholders, you’ll be thrilled to learn about it

e-Aadhaar App: In India, the Aadhaar card has become the most important identity document for every citizen. Aadhaar is required for all banking, government schemes, and tax-related processes. However, when there are errors or incorrect information, people have to visit Aadhaar service centers to correct them. This process not only wastes time but also causes delays due to technical issues. Now, UIDAI has found a permanent solution to this problem.

UIDAI’s New Digital Solution

UIDAI is preparing to launch a new app that will allow Aadhaar-related information to be updated from the comfort of your home. This new “e-Aadhaar App” will be a smart digital platform that will allow users to update their documents and details on their own. Through this app, changes like date of birth, mobile number, address, and other personal information can be made without visiting an Aadhaar center.
The new e-Aadhaar app has been designed to be easily accessible for ordinary users. It will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. Through it, Aadhaar holders will be able to correct essential information in their profiles, such as name spelling, date of birth, address, or mobile number. Minor errors will no longer require a trip to an Aadhaar center. This will reduce congestion at Aadhaar service centers and save time for ordinary citizens.

The new app will be equipped with AI
According to UIDAI officials, the new e-Aadhaar app will be equipped with AI technology. This app will verify users’ identities using advanced methods, including face recognition and biometric verification. This will enhance data security and identification accuracy. This feature will not only prevent fraud but also make the Aadhaar system more secure. It is expected that this app will be launched to the public by the end of 2025.
Currently, UIDAI has an app called mAadhaar, which allows users to view Aadhaar-related information and digitally store their cards. However, this app lacks the option to update any data. The new e-Aadhaar app will address this shortcoming and provide a fully interactive experience, allowing users to manually modify their information.

UIDAI has not yet officially announced the launch date of this new app. However, according to sources, the app could be rolled out in a phased manner by the end of 2025. This initiative by the government is considered a major step towards providing maximum convenience to citizens under the ‘Digital India’ campaign.
