Age & Qualification criteria:
The applications will be considered in respect of those candidates who fulfill the following criteria:
Age: Below 28 years (as on 30.08.2020) in respect of any of the trades / disciplines mentioned
above.
For Sr. No. 1 to 9: The candidates should have passed the respective trade from ITI in the year
2016 or thereafter.
For Sr. No. 10: The candidates should have passed the final examination of Graduation Degree
(B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com.) on regular basis in the year 2018 or thereafter.
For Sr. No. 11 to 14: The candidates should have passed the final examination of Diploma in
Engineering in respective trade (on regular basis) in the year 2018 or thereafter.
For Sr. No. 15 to 18: The candidates should have passed the final examination of Degree in
Engineering in respective trade (on regular basis) in the year 2018 or thereafter.
Note:
(i) The selected candidates will have to execute necessary contracts to be registered with concerned
Board for Apprenticeship training mandatorily, as the case may be, under the Apprentices Act, 1961
as amended from time to time, failing which, DPT may cancel the candidature for apprenticeship
training without giving any reason.
(ii) All ITI qualifications should be recognized by NCVT or State Council of Vocational Training Board.
(iii) All Diploma Engineering qualifications / Graduation Degree (B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com.) should be granted
by a State Board of Technical Education, or recognized by the State Government concerned or the
Central Government.
(a) hold a degree in engineering or technology granted by a statutory University, or an institution
empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament;
(b) has passed the graduate ship examination of professional bodies recognized by the Central
Government as equivalent to degree; OR
(c) holds the qualifications which exempt him from Sections A and B examinations of the Institution
of Engineers (India).
(v) Candidates applying for any of the trades / disciplines mentioned above should not have undergone
or should not be undergoing apprenticeship training in the past.
(vi) Candidates who have already worked or are currently working in any Government / Public sector /
Autonomous / Private organization are not eligible to apply.
(vii) Candidates should possess a valid E-mail ID and mobile phone no.
Selection Criteria:
Eligible candidates will be provisionally selected on merit basis.
The merit will be prepared on the basis of ‘Sum of marks obtained in all semesters / years’ and
‘Sum of total (maximum) marks in all semesters / years’ [as declared by the candidate in submitted
application on DPT website – www.deendayalport.gov.in].
If CGPA / C.P. / Grade / Scale / Point or other nomenclature is mentioned in the curriculum, then
the same is to be converted into the Percentage Score as per the rules and shall be inserted (out
of Maximum Marks i.e. 100).
Candidate will him / her self be held responsible with regard to the correctness of marks declared
while filling the application form on DPT website – www.deendayalport.gov.in.
No correspondence will be entertained / no communication will be made with reference to the
incorrect or false details provided by candidate.
The merit list (s) will be uploaded on DPT website - www.deendayalport.gov.in. The provisionally
selected candidates will be informed for document verification through registered E-mail ID, during
which the candidates will be required to produce following documents (in original) along with 1 set
of photocopies:
1. Passport size photo
2. Aadhar card (with matching name as per ITI / Graduation / Diploma Engineering / Degree
Engineering Certificate)
3. SSC / Matriculation Mark sheet
4. School Leaving Certificate
5. All ITI / Graduation / Diploma Engineering / Degree Engineering Certificate & Mark sheets
6. Cast Certificate [SC / ST / OBC (NCL)] (if applicable)
7. Certificate of Physically Handicapped (if applicable)
8. Proof for reservation w.r.t. Ex. Serv. (if applicable)
9. Aadhar linked bank account
DPT is not liable for delay / loss or non – receipt of E mail due to incorrect / false / change of
registered E mail ID.
If the applicant on the merit list does not remain present and duly prepared on the specific date of
reporting for Document verification or the details declared by candidate while applying is found
incorrect / false / incomplete, his / her candidature will be rejected and the next applicant (s) on
the merit list will be considered. Representation of the applicant in above circumstances will not be
entertained.
The selected candidates shall be required to produce ‘Medical Fitness Certificate’ issued by Chief
Medical Officer, Deendayal Port Trust, Gopalpuri Hospital, Gandhidham (Kutch), Gujarat – 370 240
before starting the apprenticeship training.
Reservation for apprenticeship training slots:
The reservation in respect of the SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / PH / Ex. Serv. will be as per the norms of
the Apprentices Act, 1961 & amendments published time to time and DPT. Valid Certificate will be
verified w.r.t. claim for the reservation [SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / P.H. / Ex.Serv.] at the time of
document verification.
Reservation for children of Ex-Servicemen & Armed Forces Personnel is considered as per the details
mentioned below:
(i) Children of deceased / disabled ex-servicemen including those killed / disabled during peace
time,
(ii) Children of ex-servicemen,
(iii) Children of Jawans,
(iv) Children of serving Officers.
Provided that when the prescribed number of persons belonging either to the Scheduled Castes or
to the Scheduled Tribes are not available, the training places so reserved for them may be filled by
persons belonging to the Scheduled Tribes or as the case may be, to the Scheduled Caste and if
the prescribed training places can not be filled even in the above given manner, then the training
places so lying unfilled may be filled by persons not belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the
Scheduled Tribes.
If the reserved training places can not be filled from the Other Backward Classes, then the training
places so lying unfilled may be filled by persons not belonging to the Other Backward Classes.
Leave:
There shall be two kinds of leave admissible to apprentices:
1. Casual Leave: 12 days in a year.
2. Medical Leave: 15 days in a year.
Discipline and termination of apprenticeship:
The apprentice must observe all the conduct rules applicable to workmen in the DPT. Any disagreement
or dispute between employer and apprentice arising out of the contract of apprenticeship shall be referred
to the concerned Board of apprenticeship for a decision.

The notification w. r. t. engagement of apprenticeship in Deendayal Port Trust has been hosted on the
www.deendayalport.gov.in.
(A) For Trade apprenticeship (Sr. no. 1 – 10):
Step 1: Interested & eligible candidates are first required to register through
https://apprenticeshipindia.org > ‘Register’ > ‘Candidate’ and get ‘Apprenticeship Registration
no.’ (of 10 digits, starting with ‘A’) and ‘Activate’ their Login account. The application will not be
entertained without complete updation of respective profile which requires following details to
be submitted mandatorily (online) after Login:

b. Education details (with attachment of scanned copy of Certificate)
c. Trade preference
d. Aadhar Verification
